Vintage 1950's Formal Day Dress Size 6/8
Title: Vintage 1950's Formal Day Dress Size 6/8
Age: Early 1950's - 70 years
Description:
This dress is honestly amazing! It is so unusual because of the unusual fabric. It is a true 1950's garment from Richard Shops.
In true 1950's fashion this dress has a full skirt, not quite circular but full and very rockabilly. It has small capped sleeves rounded up to create a collar that sweeps high around the back of the neck.
The bust line is gathered to create a sweetheart shape, very flattering. The waistline is nipped in from which the skirt flares beautifully.
The fabric is a synthetic which I can only describe as being similar to a modern day waterproof fabric to the touch. It has an ivory background with a bold floral design of green, red and yellow.
This dress is in immaculate vintage condition, with its original belt and a fully functioning zip fastening that runs under the left arm to the hip.
Photographed with a petticoat to show its full potential, however, this dress does not come with the petticoat included in the price.
Faults, problems: None, some hand stitching has been tidied up.
